Ancestors of Bo and Mary Lou Adkins Hagen

The Hagens are rich ... check out the links below for 1890s newspaper articles naming our Hagens as heirs to a fortune!

March 26, 1890 --- March 27, 1890

Both articles above refer to heirs of a Hugh Hagen who may or may not be our Hagen ancestor ...
... and who may or may not have even existed ...
... however, a Hugh Hegan is documented in the Lancaster City, PA census for 1779.

Welcome to The Hagen/Adkins Family Genealogy Web Site!

Many years of work have been put into the research and documentation of these ancestors. This is dedicated to those that have gone before us and is published here so that the generations of today and tomorrow can know their roots. I hope you will benefit from the information presented here. Please contact me with any additions or corrections using the address shown below.
Special thanks to Mary Lou Hagen Taylor, John W. Hagen, and Wilma J. Fauth for many Hagen Family facts and pictures they so graciously shared; to Clara Garrett Fountain for the preservation of the Garrett Family History compiled by her father many years ago; my mother, Inez Wilson Daughtrey Hagen, and her sister, Ethel Daughtrey Ellis, for the Daughtrey legacy they helped to preserve, much of which came about through the efforts of their Aunt Emily Christine Daughtrey; and to all the many others who have contributed to this story.
This current update has removed detailed information for any living individuals in hopes that it will reassure a sense of privacy and security. This researcher's Hagen Family herein came from Lancaster Co., PA to Richmond, VA some 100 years ago while the Adkins came to the Pittsylvania Co., VA area when it was Halifax Co. before the Revolution. Adkins decendents remain in that area today.
