Reseaching census records seem to point to Virginia Tevis of Norfolk, Virginia , born 1922 as indicated by the following: The 1930 Federal Census for Norfolk, Virginia, Western Branch, District 26, page 54A, dated April 4, 1930 records Virginia Tevis (6 - VA) living with her widowed mother Lissie V. Tevis (34 - VA/VA/VA) and siblings George B. (11 - VA), Arthur (8 - VA), William T. (6 - VA), Betty M. (4 3/12 - VA), Harry D. (2 1/12 - VA), Lucille (7/12 - VA) living on Jollifs Road in Norfok Co., Va. (now The City of Chesapeake). Lissie indicates that she had been married for 18 years.

PORTSMOUTH - Virginia Tevis Daughtrey, 87, of the 4400 block of Duke Drive, passed away April 25, 2011 in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. A native of Portsmouth, she was the widow of Julian K. Daughtrey. She retired from civil service at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Julianne Dizon and her husband Alberto and a grandson, Adam Dizon, all of Norfolk. A funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, with the Rev. Fred Williams officiating. The burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
