Benson: Mr. Tom E. "T.E." Johnson Jr., age 89, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benson. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, November 1, 2014, at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Jessie Brock and Paul Burgess. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born March 25, 1925 in Johnston County to the late Thomas E. Johnson, Sr. and Katie Woodall Johnson. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. He was a 1943 graduate of Four Oaks High School. Mr. Johnson was owner and operator of T. E. Johnson Lumber Company. He was a member of the Benson Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Annalean McLamb Johnson; children, Lena J. Massengill & husband, Larry, of Benson, Karen J. Martin & husband, Stephen, of Atlanta, Ga., and Tom E. Johnson, III, & wife, Diane, of Brookline, MA; sister, Meta J. Cutchin of Franklin, Va.; Grandchildren, Heather M. Clifton & husband, Jimmy, Ryan Massengill, Thomas Massengill, Kelsey Martin, and Kerry Martin; great grandchildren, Hannah Massengill and Savanah Clifton; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Benson Baptist Church, P. O. Box 323, Benson, NC 27504, Burnell Baptist Church, 3720 Old School Road, Four Oaks, NC 27524, or one's favorite charity.

Meta married John Lawrence Johnson, son of Jefferson (Jeff) Davis Johnson and Olivia (Livey) Daughtrey, on 30 Mar 1940 in Johnston Co., N. C. (John Lawrence Johnson was born on 16 Oct 1912 in Isle of Wight Co., VA, died on 18 Mar 1973 in Windsor District, Isle of Wight Co., Virginia and was buried in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, [Southampton Co., ] VA.) The cause of his death was Cardio Pulmonary Arrest.
