WILLARD H. STEWART BASSETT - Willard H. Stewart, 81, died May 18, 2010, at Graystone Health Care, in Blountville, TN. He was born in Floyd County on October 3, 1928 to Sceboy B. and Piny Aldridge Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sgt. Fred C.S. and Norman G. Stewart, and a sister, Gladys L. Maddox. He was retired from Anthony Brothers Lumber and Supply Company, in Stanleytown, VA where he worked for 48 years. Surviving is a nephew, David P. Maddox of Martinsville. A private graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Old Salem Cemetery, Copper Hill, VA with Elder W.T. Conner officiating. Memorials may be made to the Salem Head of the River Primitive Baptist Church, 7311 Floyd Hwy North Copper Hill, VA 24079 or Greystone Health Care, P.O. Box 1133, Blountville, TN, 37617.
