In Loving Memory of Shirley Ann Taylor (nee Huntman) August 7, 1929 - July 9, 2009 Shirley was an amazing woman. A natural talent, she began playing piano at an early age and studied music throughout her school years, majoring in piano at Elmhurst College and Chicago Musical College (Roosevelt University). At age 13, she played a major concerto with the Chicago Northwest Youth Symphony Orchestra. A graduate of Taft High School, she played classical, popular, and jazz, and could answer any request without a score. Shirley was pianist for her late husband, Bill's, William Russell Orchestra, for over 30 years and was sought after as soloist and accompanist in many professional settings. While raising three beloved sons, Jeffrey, Scott and Bradford, Shirley volunteered countless hours for Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Guild, serving in many capacities, including president, and was an energetic song leader and performer in senior citizen homes. She was an expert knitter and seamstress, a fantastic gardener and cook. Shirley loved her family and was a beloved and major member of her extended family. She is sorely missed but gratefully remembered by sons Jeff, Scott and Brad, and sisters, Marilyn Giese, Rev. Jeannette Sutfin and Judy Kelfstrom and brother, Phillip Huntman.
