WEIRSDALE A 71-year-old pilot, who was practicing touch-and-go landings on a grass airstrip near his home, died Wednesday when the landing gear on the single-engine plane collapsed, said the Marion County Sheriff's Office. Henry Douglas Craig died at the scene of the 12:30 p.m. crash, a sheriff's spokesman said. His wife, Jane, a passenger in the plane, was injured and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Her condition was not available. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Sheriff's Office are investigating.
