LEMON SPRINGS Allean Davis Meador, 92, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Lemon Springs United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Born in Pikeville, NC, Mrs. Meador was the daughter of the late William H. and Ora Davis Davis. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Lloyd Franklin Meador. She was a retired educator, retiring after 34 years at Greenwood School. She was a graduate of ECTC (now East Carolina University). She was a member of the Lemon Springs United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Lemon Springs Methodist Women, serving as president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer at various times. She was also a member of the Lemon Springs Extension Homemakers. Surviving are one son, Lee F. Meador of Lemon Springs, one sister, Mattie D. Johnson of Wilmington; one grandson, Lee Franklin Meador, Jr. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Alma Kraus, Gladys Pate, Ruth D. Joyner, and brothers Alton Davis and Lewis Davis.
