In the 1930 Federal Census, Caroline Mazja (Miazga) is listed as 39 having emigrated from Poland in 1912 ... see general notes on her husband, Herman Mizaga.

The 1940 Federal Census for Lackawanna, Erie Co., New York, District 15-107, page 1740A, [image 27 of 34 at www.ancestry.com] dated April 12, 1940 records Herman (46 - Poland) and Caroline (48 - Poland) Miazga with children Edward (21), Steffie (20 - NY), Frank (18 - NY), and Joseph (5 - NY) living at 22 Edgewood Place. Herman is a Locomotive Engineer at a Steel Mill earning $0 in the last year and did not work at all but is currently seeking work. Edward is a Laborer in Sewer Construction earning $189 while working 15 weeks, Steffie is a Stenographer at a Lawyer's Office earning $350 working all 52 weeks last year, while Frank is a Fireguard for a Fireman - Watchman earning $180 while working 26 weeks during the last year. Herman has has 3 years of grade school and Caroline just 2 years. Edward had 3 years of high school, Steffie 4 years of high school, and Frank just 1 year of high school. Jospeh has completed 7 years of grade school. In a more detailed listing at the bottom of the form, Carolina indicates that both she and her parents were born in Poland and that she has had 6 children and was first married at age 18 years.

There is a Carolina Kuftiak, F, 22y, Single, ethnicity Austrian/Polish, from Skalat, Galicia on board the Prinz Friedrich Wilhelm with Heronim Miazga on the Feb 29, 1912 arrival at Ellis Island. She is coming to see her brother Joseph Kuftiak in New York City. This is a good candidate for Carolina Miazga. Joseph Kuftiak can be found in the WWI Draft Registration records as born in Poland on March 2, 1882 and married to Julia Kuftiak living at 318 East 59th Street in New York City. Joseph is a window washer.

The 1920 Federal Census for New York, New York City, Manhattan Assembly District 14, District 998 records Joe (38 - Austria-Poland) and Julia (30- Austria-Poland) Kufteak (sic)with children Tadek (9), Stasio (6), and Wladio (5). Joe immigrated in 1913 while Julia lists 1914.
