The 1930 Federal Census for Deep Creek, Norfolk, VA, District 3, page 35A records Alvah L. (35 - VA/VA/VA) and Lucy L. (34 - VA/VA/VA) Daughtrey with children Mary L. (5) and Alvah L. Jr. (3 1/12). Alvah and Lucy have been married for 6 years. Alvah is an Oil Salesman.

The WWII Draft Registration Card (for men born on or after April 28, 1877 and on or before February 16, 1897) for Alvah Lee Daughtrey dated April 27, 1942 lists his date of birth as January 3, 1895 in Nansemond Co., VA. Alvah Lee Daughtrey
Birth: 1895
Death: Jul. 30, 1953
Alvah Lee Daughtrey, 58, fuel oil distributor for the Colonial Oil Company, died yesterday at 5:30 a.m. at his home at Doziers Corner, Norfolk County, after a week's illness.
A native of Franklin, he had lived here 36 years. He was a son of the late William Matthew and Mrs. Molly Carr Daughtrey. He was a member of the Fourth Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucy Lee Foreman Daughtrey; his stepmother, Mrs. Mary Rebecca Daughtrey, of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Robert A, Jones, of Doziers Corner, and Mrs. Rudolph Etheridge, of Virginia Beach; one son, Alvah Lewis Daughtrey, of Doziers Corner; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Holland, of Holland, and Mrs. Hilda Rhodes, of Windsor; two brothers, Charles E. Daughtrey and W.J. Daughtrey, both of Franklin, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
