The 1850 Federal Census for Giles Co., Va. records Isaac (23) and Miram (19) Day living in the home of Margaret (42) and Susanah French (7). Next door resides Isaac (55) and Nancy (53) Hale with children. These are probably the parents of Miraim, wife of Isaac.

The 1860 Federal Census records Isaac, Miraim, and Perry living in Mercer Co., Princeton Post Office, (West) Va. By 1870 the family is living in Giles Co., Va.

The 1880 Federal Census records Isaac (52) and Miraim (48) Day living in the Pearisburg District of Giles Co., Va. with their son Perry (29) and his wife Sue (19).

Isaac married Miriam E. Hale, daughter of Isaac Hale and Nancy Lucas, on 24 Jul 1849 in Giles Co., VA. (Miriam E. Hale was born about 1831 in Mercer Co., (West) VA. and died after 1900 in Giles Co., VA..)
