The 1900 Federal Census for Gregory's Store, Bluestone, Mecklenburg Co., VA, District 42 records George A. (May 1848) and Anna E. (AUg 1863) Burton with children George A. Jr. (Dec 1885), Ola E. (July 1888), Arlene A. (Dec 1891), Anna M. (Dec 1894), and Ethel E. (Nov 1897). George and Anna have been married for 15 years and have had 5 children.

The 1910 Federal Census for Danville, Va. (ED#22, page 87B) records George A. Burton and family living at 401 Floyd Street. George is listed as not employed but his daughters, Ola and Arline, are respectivly a roller in a cigarette factory and a seamstress: George A. (54) and Anna E. (46) Burton with children Ola E. (20), Arline A. (18), Ethel E. (12), and Thomas A. (8). George and Anna have been married for 25 years and have had 6 children of whom 5 are still living.

The 1920 Federal Census for Danville Ward 3, Danville (Independent City), Virginia, District 36 George A. (74) and Anna (55) Burton with children Ola (26), Ethel (20), and Thomas (18) living at 420 North Ridge Street. George is an invalid while Ola works as a Saleswoman at the Dry Goods Store, Ethel works as an Operator at the Overall Factory, and Thomas is a weaver at the Cotton Mill.

The 1930 Federal Census for Danville Ward 3, Danville (Independent City), Virginia, District 6 records the widow Anna E. (66) Burton with her daughter Ola E. (41) living at 420 North Ridge Street. Ola works as a Saleswoman at the Dry Goods Store.

The Danville Bee reports the death of George A. Burton on July 9, 1924.

George married Anna Eliza Wood, daughter of Richard T. Wood and Mary Elizabeth Dedmond, about 1885. (Anna Eliza Wood was born on 21 Aug 1863 in Bluestone Township, Mecklenburg Co., VA. and died after 1939 in Danville City, (Pittsylvania Co.), Virginia.)
