The 1880 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia records Pomp Adkinds (30) with wife Pollie A. Adkinds (32) and children Marie (10), Sallie A. (7), Saint P. (5), David C. (4) and Minnora B. (1). Pomp is described as a Blacksmith.

The 1900 Federal Census for Pigg River District, Pittsylvania Co., VA, ED#82, page 96A records Pomp (May 1850) and Mary A. (June 1856) [earlier census records indicate Mary's date of birth to be mid 1840s] Adkins with children Charles W. (Nov 1883), Florance (Oct 1885), David (Oct 1877) and his wife, Nora (Jan 1879). Pomp and Mary have been married for 25 years and have had 9 children of whom all 9 are still living. David and Nora have been married for 0 years. Pomp is a farmer. Note that the 1880 census lists Minnora B. Adkins as a daughter of Pomp and Pollie while the 1900 census records Nora as a wife of David ... same person??!??

Pomp, Nannie, and Polly have not been found in the 1910 census record; however, Nannie Pruitt is listed as a wife of Pomp Adkins at findagrave.com ...

The 1920 Federal Census for Union Hall District, Franklin Co., VA, ED#63, page 51A, dated February 6, 1920 records Pomp Adkins (68) and his wife Nannie Adkins (40) with their children Cletis C. Adkins (16), James O. Adkins (5), Lemie T. Adkins (7), and Lera M. Adkins (13) farming along the Danville Pike.
