The 1870 Federal Census for Elmira, Chemung Co., New York, Ward 2, page 154 records Dennis McCarty (34-Boot Maker) with wife Jane [Johanna] (35) and children Mathias [Matthew] (12), Catherine (10), Julia (7), and Dennis (4/12). All children are listed as born in Ireland (not true, immigration is in 1863) and Dennis is listed as born in Feb 1870.
