(July 1884) and Robert L. (August 1886). Joseph and Rozella have been married 29 years having had 7 children of which 5 are still living.

The 1930 Federal Census for Leigh, Amelia Co., Virginia, District 5, page 71B, dated April 8, 1930 records J. Witt (45) and Sallie M. (35) Borum with children Willie W. (17), Louise F. (15), Mary V. (13), James M. (11), Myrtle L. (9), Richard H. (7), and Rosa A. (6). Also in the household is J. Witt's widowed sister, Mary E. Glenn (54) who indicates she was first married at age 32. Mary is a Public School Teacher. J. Wiit was first married at age 27 while Sallie at age 17. They are a farming family living along the Bunker Hill Road.

The 1940 Federal Census for Leigh, Amelia Co., Virginia, District 4-6, page 93A, dated April 17, 1940 records Witt (56) and Sallie M. (46) Borum with children James M. (21), Myrtle Lee (19), Richard H. (16), and Rosa A. (15). They are a farming family living along Ridge Road, Route 619.

The WWII Draft Registration Card (for men born on or after April 28, 1877 and on or before Februaryy 16, 1897) for Joseph Witt Borum dated April 27, 1942 lists his date of birth as July 26, 1884 in Nottoway Co., VA. He is living with his wife, Mrs. Sallie Mae Borum, at Rice, Amelia Co., VA. He is Self Employed and his physical description is 5' 11", 160 lbs with blue eyes, brown hair and ruddy complexion. He reports having a bad hernia condition.

Joseph married Sallie May circa 1912 in Virginia. (Sallie May was born on 15 Sep 1894 in Virginia and died in Dec 1980 in Blackstone, Nottoway Co., VA.)
