(41 - VA/VA/VA) and Grizelle E. (41 - NC/VA/NC) Howell and siblings Edward N. Howell (12 - NC) and Rubin A. Howell (8 - VA) at 7 Clifton Street. Melza is a Foreman at a Lumber Mill and has been married to Grizelle for 18 years. They have had 3 children all of whom are still living.

The 1900 Federal Census for Berkley Town, Washington Township, Norfolk County, VA, ED 43, page 13A, dated June 8, 1900 records Vivan L. Howell (Sept 1893 - VA) living with her parents Melza E. (Oct 1868 - VA/VA/VA) and Grizelle (Nov 1868 - NC/VA/NC) Howell and brother Edwin E. Howell (Feb 1898 - NC) at 214 Virginia Street. Melza is a Day Laborer and has been married to Grizelle for 8 years. They have had 2 children both of whom are still living.

Vivian married William Charles Norfleet, son of William Henley Norfleet and Annie Virginia Byrd, on 12 Feb 1913 in Norfolk City, VA. (William Charles Norfleet was born on 1 May 1887 in Nansemond Co, VA. and died on 14 Oct 1952 in Norfolk City, VA.)
