Papers ca 1867 regarding heirs of James Goodman, plaintiff is Edny Goodman Parker Milteer, daughter of James Goodman.
Images 16 & 17 of 299 name all the children of James & Parthenia Goodman as well as spouses and in some cases the grand children.
7th A sister named Sarah, who married Dempsey Langston, both of whom are dead leaving six children to wit: (1st) John D. Langston, who is now dead; (2nd) Timothy E. Langston; (3rd) Margaret, (4th) Thomas B. Langston; (5th) Ann the wife of Wm W Darden; (6th) Isaac E. Langston - that said John D. Langston left seven children, to wit: Jesse, David, George W., Frances, Catherine, Parthena, over twenty-one year old & alive, and William, alive & under twenty-one years of age - that said Margaret married Jas H. Daughtrey & is dead leaving seven children all infants to wit: Jacob E., Sarah J, Mary E., Dempsey J., Mariah, Vada, Margaret Daughtrey, that said Isaac E. Langston is dead & left two children, Sarah E. now wife of Wm. G. Goodman, and Elizabeth C. Goodman under twenty one years of age.

Dempsey married Sarah Goodman, daughter of James Goodman and Parthenia Barnes, on 20 Sep 1804 in Gates Co., NC. (Sarah Goodman was born on 12 Jun 1785 in Nansemond Co, VA and died on 13 Oct 1847 in Nansemond Co, VA.)
