Phil B. Kennedy, Formerly of Penn Hills
Phil B. Kennedy, 90, formerly of Penn Hills, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, in Palm Harbor, Fla. Husband of the late Alice Schindler Kennedy. Father of Philip Bryan (Cheryl) Kennedy of Palm Harbor, Fla. Grandfather of Philip Barclay Kennedy and Shaun Kennedy. Loving companion of Lillian Winkleman. Phil retired as the safe deposit manager of Union National Bank and served as president of the American Safe Deposit Association. He also was a sports writer for Dardanell Publications (Penn Hills Progress) for more than 25 years. He was inducted into the Penn Hills Sports Hall of Fame. Phil was a proud World War II Army veteran serving in the 2nd Engineer Special Brigade. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME INC., 11110 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
