Gloria P. Hill, 78, wife of the late Nathan Hill Sr. and a resident of Chincoteague Island, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Gloria was born in Ocean City, Md., on Feb. 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Norman L. and Ruth A. (White) Hancock. She was a member of Daughters of Ruth Sunday school class of Union Baptist Church in Chincoteague and Christ United Methodist Church in Chincoteague.
She is survived by one son, Nathan Hill and his wife, Roxanne, of Chincoteague; three daughters, Toni Bowden and her husband, Howard, of Wattsville [Accomack Co.], Jennifer Morin and her husband, Stephen, of Dover, Del., and Traci Robbins and her husband, Pat, of Chincoteague; stepson, Robert F. Hill and his wife, Ruthie, of Richmond, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Colleen Kean, Jennie Haymond, Natalee Hill, Bobby Hill, Mary-Lawrence Hill, Sarah Hill, Jon Robbins, Jenny Robbins, Brielle Robbins and Zach Robbins; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, with the Rev. Kevin Eley officiating. Interment will be in John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery, Temperanceville.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of Eastern Shore, 165 Market St., Onancock, Va. 23417 or the charity of one's choice.
