(24 - PA) Adams and siblings John D. (1) and Hannah E. (8). Richard is a farmer with real estate valued at $1,500 and a personal estate valued at $600.

The 1850 for Petersburgh Borough, Perry Co., PA, Shermansdale P. O., page 465B, dated October 24, 1850 records Richard H. Adams (21) living with Lawrence Gross (45 - PA) and his wife Ann (40 - PA) and their children Elizabeth (19), Sarah (17), Susannah (15), William E. (13), Leah (11), and Lawrence (9). It appears that in a few years, Richard will marry this Susannah Gross; however, other researchers of this family indicate that he marries Susannah Leppard of Perry County. Also in the household are Mary A. Miller (1) and Rebecca Miller (1) as well as John Boyer (15). Lawrence Gross, Richard Adams, and John Boyer are all employed as Shoemakers.
