FANNIE E. HINGERTY WILLIAMS POWELL
Suffolk, Nov. 12 - Mrs. Fannie E. Powell, 76, prominent resident of Nansemond County, and widow of J.N. Powell, died this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, at her home in the county, following a long illness.
Surviving her are six children, Jesse L. Williams, Henly N. Williams, Mrs. Nellie B. Pierce, Allie H. Powell, Mrs. E.P. Tadlock, and Chesley R. Powell, all of the county; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, J.R. Hingerty [This should be T. R. or Thomas Rice], of Windsor, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. J.S. Johnston, assisted by the Rev. R.I. Williams and the Rev. J.S. Maxey.
