Next door is Leonard Currin (38 - VA) with his wife Emily (32 - NC) and family and Elizabeth Currin (70) [probably Abner and Leonard's mother].
The 1860 Federal Census for Granville Co., N.C., page 239B, dated June 18, 1860 records Abner (51 - NC) and Phebe (51 - NC) Currin with children Thomas (21), Rebecca (20), James (15), and Stephen (8). Abner is a farmer with real estate valued at $800 and a personal estate valued at $500. Next door is 1 year old Abner Newton who will marry Hattie Currin, who will be the daughter of 15 year old James Currin (above): John (35 - VA) and Parthena (28 - NC) Newton with children William (11), James (8), Louisa (6), Sally (4), and Abner (1).
