The 1860 Federal Census for Pennsylvania, Cumberland Co., Lower Allen, Shiremantown Post Office records S (43) and M (43) Shireman with children I. (16), S. (13), B. (9), R. (6), and F. (1). Samuel's "Profession, Occupation, or Trade" is now llisted as "Post Office".
The 1870 Federal Census for Pennsylvania, Cumberland Co., Lower Allen, Shiremanstown Post Office records Samuel (57) and Maria (48) Shireman with children Benton (19), Rufus (16), Flora J. (11), Robert R. (2), and Owen M. (1/12). Samuel is listed as a Painter.

(Dec 1882) and George M. (July 1886) at 171 East North Street.
