(June 1862) Watterson with siblings William L. (Oct 1883), John D. (April 1885), Hadmill B. (March 1887), Maggie L. (Dec 1888), Lizzie A. (Oct 1892), Lesler B. (Sept 97), and Marvin D. (Feb 1900). George and Beaty have been married 18 years with 8 children.

By 1910 George and Beatty have moved their family to Mecklenburg Co., VA. The 1910 Federal Census for Mecklenburg Co., Boydton Township, Virginia, District 51, page 55B records George R. (49-NC/Farmer) and Bates D. (47-NC) Watterson with children William L. (25), George S. (19), Lizzie A. (16), Leola B. (13-daughter), and Marvin D. (10). Note that Lester, son, is now Leola, daughter. George have been married 28 years with 8 children all of whom are still living. Next door is George R. Watterson' brother John W. Watterson (56) with his wife Fatha (57) and 2 sons Arthur M. (26) (and his wife Millie L. (20)) and Martin L. (22).

The WWI Draft Card Registration records on June 5, 1917 George Shual Watterson as born at Kings Mountain [Cleveland Co.), NC on May 10, 1890. He is a farmer in Baskerville, Mecklenburg Co., VA and is described as tall and slender with grey eyes and black hair.

The 1920 Federal Census for Mecklenburg Co., Boydton Township, Virginia, District 46, page 55A records George A. (59-NC/Farmer) and Badie (58-NC) Watterson with children Dewitt M. (20), George S. (23), and Lelia (22).

The 1930 Federal Census forChase City, Mecklenburg Co., Virginia, District 12, page 73A records George (39 - NC) and Ennis (33 - NC) Watterson with children Willis Bill (9 - VA), Evelyn (8 - VA), Douglas (6 - VA), Cristeen (5 - VA), Doris (3 4/12 - VA), Bonidia (4/12 - VA) living on Highway #12. George is a Carpenter for a Home Builder.

The 1940 Federal Census forChase City, Mecklenburg Co., Virginia, District 59-15, page 199B, dated April 6, 1940 records George (50 - VA) and Emma (42 - VA) Watterson with children Willie Bell (19 - VA), Evelyn (17 - VA), Douglas (16 - VA), Christine (14 - VA), Doris (12 - VA), Bonita (10 - VA), Winnie (5), and Bruce (5/12). George is a Carpenter for Building and has completed 5 years of schooling. Emma has completed 4 years of High School while Willie Bell has 1 year of college.
