Michael Trump

  General Notes:

The 1850 and 1860 census records show Michael and Sarah Trump and family farming in Stark Co., Ohio (see notes on their daughter). By 1870 they have moved to Union Township, St. Joseph Co., Indiana: The 1870 Federal Census for Union Township, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, Lakeville P.O. page 526B / 527A records Michel (57-Ohio) and Sarah (52-PA) Trump with children Michel (13-Ohio), Henry (11-Ohio), and Lusetta (6-Ohio). Michael is a farmer with real estate valued at $3,500 and personal property at $350. Neither Michel nor Sarah can write and Michel can not read but Sarah indicates that she can.

The 1880 Federal Census for Union Township, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, Lakeville P.O., District 168, page 550B records Michael (68-Ohio/PA/PA) and Sally (64-PA/PA/PA) Trump with children Michael (23-Ohio), Henry (21-Ohio), and Lucetta (16-Ohio). Michael is a farmer. Neither Michel nor Sarah can write and Michel can not read but Sarah indicates that she can.

Michael married Salome Simmons circa 1837. (Salome Simmons was born circa 1815 in Pennsylvania and died after 1880 in Union Township, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.)
