The parents of Charles Zimmerman appear to be Peter and Susan Zimmerman of Germany: The 1880 Federal Census for Springfield, Clark Co., Ohio, District 50, page 419B records Peter (40 - Germany) and Susan (36 - Germany) Zimmerman with children Charles (16 - Germany), Max (14 - Germany), Annie (13 - Ohio), Lizzie (12 - Ohio), Lena (7 - Ohio), Louisa (5 - Ohio), Philolemia (3 - Ohio), and William (6/12 - Ohio). Peter works in or possibly owns a Brewery. The 1870 Census for Springfield indicates that both Peter and Susan are from Baden and that Peter is a Peddler. Using the 1910 census, it appears that Peter, Susan, and Max immigrated to this country in 1842; however, that would be before Max was even born ... the 1900 census records the year of immigration as 1864.
Charles married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Cramer/Creamer, daughter of George C. Cramer/Creamer and Sarah J. Gillen, on 13 Feb 1892 in Clark Co., Ohio. (Elizabeth "Lizzie" Cramer/Creamer was born in Sep 1864 in Hennepin, Putnam Co., Illinois and died after 1940 in Springfield, Clark Co., Ohio.)
