The 1940 Federal Census for Lynchburg, VA, District 111-3, page 20B, dated April 5, 1940 records John M. (68 - VA) and Emma M. (49 - VA) Oakey living at 1327 Oak Lane. [This John M. Oakey is the son of the founder of the John M. Oakey Funeral Home in Salem & Roanoke, VA begun in the 1860s]
