The 1900 Federal Census for Oxford, Granville Co., North Carolina, District 58, page 118B, dated June 5, 1900 records A. S. (March 1840 - NC/NC/NC) and Ella C. (Aug 1850 - NC/NC) Peace with sons W. G. [Willis] (Sept 1875), W. L. [William Leak] (April 1877), S. T. (July 1879), A. W. [Alexander Winston] (Aug 1881), J. M. [James Merrill] (Aug 1892), and daughter Etta F. (May 1884). Alexander is a farmer who has been married to Ella for 26 years. They have had 7 children of whom 6 are still living. S. T. is a cashier at a Bank while A. W. is a Book Keeper at a Bank. W. G. is a student at N. S. M. A and W. L. is a Post Master.

The 1910 census lists Ella as a widow livng with her son Merrill as well as her son William L. Peace and his wife and family.
