Jay Roswell Lichtenwalner, 77, of Bethlehem, passed away Saturday evening January 16, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest surrounded by his loving family. Born: March 7, 1932 in Tatamy, he was a son of the late Clarence Owen and Dianna Helen Ott Lichtenwalner. Personal: Jay and his beloved wife, the former Connie Carol Toth, celebrated 47 years of marriage. He graduated from Easton High School class of 1949 and Penn State University in 1954 where he received a BA in Accounting. Jay was employed at D.H. Messer and Co. CPA's, J.W.Neff Laboratories, Inc., and Holland-Suco Color Co., Holland Michigan where he was employed as the Comptroller. He retired in 1988 from ALPO Petfoods, Inc., where he served as Treasurer. Jay was a devoted family man, husband and father. The focus of his life was to take care of everyone around him. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Memberships: Jay was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Nazareth. He was also a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPA's. He served on the board of the former Allentown Osteopathic Hospital and was Financial Secretary at Nativity Lutheran Church in Allentown for many years. Survivors: In addition to his wife Connie; he is survived by one daughter, Deborah Lynn Reimer of Bethlehem; two brothers, DeVere and his wife Kathleen of Reading, and Hale and his wife Charmaine of Nazareth; four sisters, June Smith of Bethlehem, Janet Mellwig and her husband Richard of Tatamy, Dawn Dunn of Bethlehem, and Gwen Lichtenwalner of Nazareth; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, David Lee Reimer, a brother Clarence "Sonny", and sister LaRue Dunn. Services: Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, PC, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth, and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad St., Nazareth, PA 18064. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown.
