The 1900 Federal Census for Knox Co., Tennessee, Civil District 16, District 88, page 135A, dated June 12, 1900 records Rachel V. Trent (June 1849 - VA/VA/VA) with her children Joe N. Trent (March 1891 - TN), John Trent (Nov 1887 - TN), and Lottie Trent (April 1885 - TN). Also in the household is Rachel's married daughter Julia T. Newman (Sept 1880 - Texas) and her husband Henry S. Newman (Feb 1873 - TN).

Rachel married John P. Trent, son of William Bailey Trent and Sarah (Sallie) Wall Garrett. (John P. Trent was born on 3 May 1848 in Henry Co., VA, died on 11 Aug 1897 in Knox Co., Tennessee and was buried in Trentville Cemetery, Knox Co., Tennessee.)
