The 1880 Federal Census (ED#169, page 185A) records James (54) and Elizabeth (52) with their children Emma W. (20), Anne (16), James W. (14), Edward (12), and John (10) living in Pittsylvania Co., Va. It is of interest that the family is living near the family of Y. B. and Martha Glidewell, parents of Archer Price Glidewell who married James and Elizabeth's daughter, Sarah Jones.
James married Elizabeth Chandler on 30 Aug 1848 in Caswell Co., N.C. (Elizabeth Chandler was born about 1827 in North Carolina.)
