bullet  General Notes:

The 1900 Federal Census for Ironton Ward 2, Lawrence Co., Ohio, District 82, page 78A, dated June 6, 1900 records Irvin (Nov 1873 - Ohio/Ohio/Ohio) and Susan (Dec 1870 - Ohio/Ireland/Irelnad) Hailey with their daughter Rosa (Dec 1900) and Irvin's widowed father-in-law Henry O'Brien (April 1821 - Ireland/Irelnad/Ireland) living at 85 North Second Street. Henry indicates he immigrated in 1847. Also in the household are Henry's children Edward (June 1864 - Ohio), Rose (Sept 1865 - Ohio), and Kate (July 1872 - Ohio). Irvin is a Motorman while Edward is a Puddler and Kate is a Cigar Maker. Irvin and Susan have been married for 2 years and have had 1 child. Edward, Rose, and Kate are all single. Next door is Mary Haley (Jan 1856 - Ohio/PA/PA) with 2 daughters Myrtle A. Haley (Nov 1874 - Ohio) and Wilda Haley (May 1882) living at 81 Second Street. Mary indicates that she was married for 28 years and has had 5 children all of whom are still living. This Mary Haley may be a relation; however, I can find no evidence of that thus far.

The 1910 Federal Census for Ironton Ward 1, Lawrence Co., Ohio, District 98, page 116A, dated April 21, 1910 records Irvin (35 - Ohio/Ohio/Ohio) and Sue (37 - Ohio/Ireland/Irelnad) Hailey with their children Irvin Jr. (7), Francis (listed as a son) (5), and Mary Agnes (4/12) living at 276 Second Street. Irvin is a Cook in a Restaurant and has been married to Sue for 11 years. Irvin and Susan have had 4 children of whom 3 are still living ... thus their daughter, Rosa, must have died.

The 1920 Federal Census for Ironton Ward 4, Lawrence Co., Ohio, District 118, page 233B, dated January 2, 1920 records Irvin Sr. (45 - Ohio/Ohio/Ohio) and Susan G. (46 - Ohio/Ireland/Irelnad) Hailey with their children Irvin Jr. (17), Francis (15), and Mary A. (10) living at 1908 Third Street. Irvin is a Motorman for the Electric Railway, Irvin Jr. is a Waiter at a Lunch Room, and Francis (listed as a son) is a Drug Clerk at a Drug Store.

The 1930 Federal Census for the Upper Township, Ironton City, Lawrence Co., Ohio, District 25, page 187A, dated April 4, 1930 records Irvin Sr. (45 - Ohio/Ohio/Ohio) and Susan G. (46 - Ohio/Ireland/Irelnad) Hailey with their daughter Mary A. Hailey (20) living at 1908 South Third Street. Also in the household is brother-in-law James O'Brien (63 - Ohio/Ireland/Irelnad) who is single. Irvin is a Motorman for the Ohio Valley Car Company while Mary is a Book Keeper at the Ironton Building Supply. James has no employment. Irvin and Susan have been married for 32 years.

Irvin is the informant on his wife's 1934 death certificate.
