According to Volume 165 of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, he may have been born in 1755 instead of 1748, and may have died in Randolph County, VA (Now West Virginia). In 1781 he was a Captain in the Randolph County, Virginia Militia. The DAR says he was born in Germany, and died in Randolph County, VA.
Salatheil married Elizabeth L. Gray. (Elizabeth L. Gray was born about 1853, died on 2 May 1839 in Meigs Co., Ohio and was buried in Temple Cemetery, Meigs Co., Ohio.)
