The 1900 Federal Census for Pittsylvania Co., Va. (ED#71, Sheet 4A, page 227A) records Jabz Gibson (Mar 1854) and wife Elviria (May 1858)and children William T. (May 1876), Sidney J. (Dec 1877), Henry P. (Aug 1879), Jabz (Aug 1881), Lou J. (Jun 1883),Charles (Feb 1885), Callie (Apr 1887), Robert (May 1889), Jonnie (May 1891), Colie (Jan 1895), Emma (Dec 1896).
The 1910 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., Va. (ED#89, page 74A) records Jabe G. Gibson (68) married for the second time to Nannie (31). Children included in the household are Johnie (19), Minnie (10), Mary (8), and Stonewall J. (1). Next door is Charlie W. Gibson (31) and family and Ballard Adkins, brother-in-law by Jabe's first wife. Charlie has his brothers Colie and Robert living with him.

The 1920 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., Va. records Jabe Gibson (68) with wife Lucy (59) and son "General" (11).

The 1930 Federal Census for Callands, Pittsylvania Co., Va. records Jabe Gibson (78) with wife Lucy (79). Two sons reside on either side of Jabe: Sidney J. Gibson and family and "General" (Stonewall Jackson) Gibson and family.

Jabez married Elvira Callands Adkins, daughter of Unknown and Permelia Adkins. (Elvira Callands Adkins was born about 1855 in Pittsylvania Co., VA. and died circa 1905 in Museville, Pittsylvania Co., VA..)
