  General Notes:

The 1860 United States Federal Census for Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Ward 18, South West Division, page 439 records Jared (22) and Rachel (21) Craig with daughter Margaret (11/12) living in the household of Lewis (45-Ships Carpenter) and Mary Ann (42) Heaton. Also in the household are Abraham (25-brick layer/wharf builder) and Charlotte (19) Gumphart and daughter Annie (1). In addition, this household has Mary Ann Heaton (18), Charles Heaton (14), Jane (10), and Catherine (8).
The records of the 1880 census indicate that this is the family of Harry Craig, step son of Benjamin and Rachel Weaton (see notes on Harry Craig).

There is a Jared Craig from Philadelphia who was killed during the Civil War while serving in Co. K. of the 90th Pa. Infantry.

Jared married Rachel Heaton, daughter of Lewis Heaton and Mary Ann. (Rachel Heaton was born about 1838.)
