The 1910 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Berks Co., 6-Ward Reading, District 62, page 95 records Howard J. (48) and Caddie (47) Fries living at 117 North Front Street. Also in the household is son Charles Fries (22) and mother-in-law Clarinda Smith (82).

J. married Caddie Smith, daughter of Dr. Aaron Smith and Clarinda, circa 1885. (Caddie Smith was born in Apr 1858 in Berks Co., Pennsylvania and died after 1910 in Reading, Berks Co., PA..)
