(42 - PA/PA/PA) Gromis with their daughter Edna (16) living at 129 Pear Street. Irvin and Emma have been married for 17 years and report having had 0 children ... that's right ... "0" children even though Edna is listed as their daughter. Also in the household is Emma's widowed mother, Susan Kline (80 - PA/PA/PA). Susan reports having her own income and having had 6 children of whom 2 arer still living. Irvin is a Salesman at a Grocery Store while Edna works as an Apprentice Millinery.

The WWI Draft Registration Card for Irvin Gromis records his date of birth as January 20, 1873. He reports is employment as a Clerk in a Grocery Store and his nearest relative as his wife, Anna [Emma] F. Gromis of 118 South 10th Street in Reading. His physical description is medium height and build with gray eyes and brown hair.


The 1930 Federal Census for Reading, Ward 15, Berks Co., PA, District 58, page 114A, dated April 7, 1930 records Irvin (57 - PA/PA/PA) and Emma (62 - PA/PA/PA) Gromis living at 103 Oley Street. Irvin has been married since the age of 20 and Emma since the age of 25. Irvin is a Shippiong Clerk at a Department Store.

Irvin married Emma F. Kline on 18 Feb 1893 in Reading, Berks Co., PA. (Emma F. Kline was born circa 1868 in Pennsylvania and died after 1930 in Reading, Berks Co., PA.)
