bullet  General Notes:

Nell [her maiden name of Howell] is mentioned in the obituary of her brother, Edward Hunter Daughtrey.

Norfolk, VA Pilot, June 2002
SUFFOLK -- When the babies who came to Beaver Dam Baptist Church got cranky, Nell Howell soothed them with the old-time hymns she loved.
``Jesus Loves Me.'' ``Deep and Wide.'' And one about the man who climbed a sycamore tree to better see Jesus.
``Zaccheus was a wee little man, and a wee little man was he,''she'd croon as she walked a crying baby around the church's tiny cemetery, where she went so she wouldn't disturb the service.
Nell Daughtrey Howell, 87, who tended infants and toddlers in her church's nursery for more than 60 years, died Tuesday of congestive heart failure.
