The WWII Draft Registration Card (for men born on or after April 28, 1877 and on or before February 16, 1897) for Robert Edward Garrison dated April 27, 1942 lists his date of birth as September 16, 1888 in Reading, PA. He is living with his wife, Helen M. Garrison, at 2529 Perkemon Avenue, Mt. Penn, Berks Co., PA. He is self employed living at 541 Court Street in Reading and his physical description is 6' 2", 200 lbs. The second page of the registration records his physical description as negro with brown eyes, black hair and dark brown complexion and has an amputated hand. All census records records his race as white so this second page may be out of place.

The 1945 Reading City Directory lists Helen M. Garrison wid Robt h 2517 Perk av MtPenn while the 1944 Reading City Directory lists Robt E Garrison (Helen M) genl ins 541 Court h 2517 Perk av MtPenn implying Robert had recently passed away.
