By 1860, James H. Webb is listed as "Head of Household": The 1860 United States Federal Census for South District, Alamance Co., North Carolina records J. H. Webb (27 - male), S. S. Webb (25 - male), Ellen Webb (24) [Sidney's wife], James Webb (1), C. A. Webb (50 - female) Henrietta Webb (28), Susan Webb (19), A. S. Webb (17 - male), W. R. Webb (26 - male), A. A. By 1870 the only member of this family I have found in census records is Sydney S. Webb: The 1870 Federal Census for Bingham Township, Orange Co., NC, Oaks P. O. records Sidney S. Webb (34) with wife Ellen (33) and children James O. (11), Junius B. (9), Alexander J. (7), Mary E. (5), and Eva (8/12). Sidney is a Merchant with real estate valued at $2,500 and personal property of $600.

Alexander married Cornelia Adeline Stanford. (Cornelia Adeline Stanford was born about 1809 in North Carolina and died after 1860 in Alamance Co., North Carolina.)
