Note: I could not find a social security death index entry for Georgia Drake until I used the social security number given on her Death Certificate. The name associated with that number was "Georgia Owens". It seems that Georgia must have had a first marriage, but I cannot find any information on it. Also, her social security record contains a birth year of 1897 instead of 1898 as stated on her Death Certificate.

Note: Curtis O. Drake's Death Certificate and obituary indicate that he is buried at Catawba Springs Church Cemetery in Wake Co., NC. A walk through the cemetery by me did not find a tombstone for him and I find it hard to believe that he would be buried in an unmarked grave. I think it was his second wife's intention to bury him there since he had other family there, but I think it is possible that his children objected causing him to be buried elsewhere. At the time of Curtis' death, he had 8 children alive as per his obituary. One lived in Chicago, one was in the USAF and ended up living in Texas, four lived in California, one lived in New Mexico, and one unmarried child lived in Raleigh. I think the children would have wanted their father buried next to their mother, where ever that is, probably out west somewhere (New Mexico?), or at least, closer to the majority of the children.

NC Death Certificate names his parents as George Franklin Drake and Julia Holt Drake. His wife is listed as Georgia Moon Drake.

Curtis married Nannie Sue Garrett, daughter of James Washington Garrett and Mary Ann Virginia (Jennie) Taylor, on 25 Feb 1906 in Guilford Co., North Carolina. (Nannie Sue Garrett was born on 28 Feb 1882 in Huntsville Township, Rockingham Co., N.C. and died after 1930 in Hurley Township, Grant Co., New Mexico.)

Curtis next married Georgia Moon. (Georgia Moon was born on 15 Mar 1898 in Roxboro, Person Co., N.C, died on 30 Aug 1971 in Roxboro, Person Co., N.C. and was buried on 31 Aug 1971 in Dunn Family Cemetery, Roxboro, Person Co., NC.) The cause of her death was Cardiac Arrest.
