Luke C. Mattox
FLORIDA -- Luke C. Mattox, formerly of Martinsville, Va., died Sept. 21, 2004, in St. Petersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar H. Mattox and Grace A. Mattox; and brothers, Howard and Stewart Mattox.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie M. Tyree; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, all of Roanoke, Va.; sisters, Faris Melton and Leah Minter, both of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in St. Petersburg at a later date with arrangements by ALife Tribute.
Edgar married Gracie Adkins, daughter of John Coleman Adkins and Mary E. (Gracie Adkins was born in Sep 1894 in Callands, Pittsylvania Co., VA. and died after 27 Apr 1942 in Axton, Henry Co., VA.)
