bullet  General Notes:

The 1870 Federal Census for Hennepin Township, Putnum Co., Illinois, Hennepin P. O., page 151B, dated June 13, 1870 records Mary Henderson (33 - PA) with her son Joseph F. Henderson (2 - IL) living next door to her father, Jacob Bashore (63 - PA), and his 2nd wife, Elizabeth Bashore (45 - PA).

The website and researcher below indicate this Bashore family of Putnam Co., IL is the family of Elizabeth Bashore who married Paul Cramer and that Mary Ann Bashore married a Samuel Henderson.

I don't know if this is your Jacob. This family came from Lebanon Co. PA
and settled in Florid, IL. Almost everyone who settled there in the early
years were from either East Hanover or Annville, PA. If you are interested
in the complete tree that I have, let me know.

The only Samuel Henderson that is the likely husband of Mary Ann Bashore is never found in census records. There is a Samuel Henderson listed in the Civil War Draft Records; however, he is born in 1841 and is listed as single and unmarried in that record dated June 1863.

A Civil War Pension Index: General Index to Pension Files, 1861-1934 <www.ancestry.com> lists:
Samuel Henderson Co E 4th Ill Cav
Widow: Mary A. Henderson, Date of Filing is April 18, 1865, Appl # 90115
Minor: Cora F. Henderson, Date of Filing is April 5, 1895, Appl # 610,751
and
American Civil War Soldiers <www.ancestry.com>
Samuel Henderson

Enlistment Date: 18 Mar 1864
Side Served: Union State
Served: Illinois
Service Record: Enlisted as a Private on 18 March 1864.
Enlisted in Company E, 4th Cavalry Regiment Illinois on 18 Mar 1864.
Discharged from Company E, 4th Cavalry Regiment Illinois on 30 Aug 1864 at Natchez, MS.

If these 2 Sam Hendersons are one in the same then perhaps we have found Mary Ann Bashore's husband. Perhaps requesting service and pension records would clear this up. Note the "minor" listed on the pension claim: Cora Henderson. With additional research one can find:
The 1870 Federal Census for Normal Township, McLean Co., Illinois, page 587A, dated June 18, 1870 at the Soldiers Orphan Home records Jno H. Henderson (11 - IL), Augustus Henderson (9 - IL), and Cora Henderson (7 - IL).
The 1880 Federal Census for Hennepin, Putnam Co., Illinois, page 272A, dated June 2, 1880 records the widow Mary A. Henderson (40 - PA/PA/PA) with sons William Garner (23 - IL), John H. Henderson (19 - IL), and Augustus Henderson (17 - IL). Of course, William Garner is a mystery as is the where abouts of Cora Henderson.; but the John H and Augustus are consistent with the 1870 census record above.
