Mrs. Lorene Pace Reaves Cooper
STATESBORO, Ga. - Mrs. Lorene Pace Reaves Cooper, age 103, died on Monday, May 9, 2011, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The Dodge County native lived in Eastman, Ga., for many years, moving to Atlanta for two years before moving to Statesboro in 1978. Mrs. Cooper was a retired bookkeeper, having worked in Atlanta, at the Statesboro Airport and for Temple Hill Church until her retirement in 1999 at the age of 91. She was a member of the Temple Hill Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George M. Reaves; her second husband, Oscar "O.C." Cooper; a son, George Carl Reaves; and a daughter-in-law, Dolores "Dee" Reaves.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Reaves of Statesboro; a daughter-in-law, Betty Reaves of Statesboro; six grandchildren, Paul (Lynn) Reaves, Judy R. (John) Dotson, Alan (Betsy) Reaves, all of Statesboro, Tommy (Janet) Reaves of Richmond Hill, Tracy (Jeffrey) Williams of Waleska, Ga., and Ann (Joe) Hill of Statesboro; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Creel officiating. Interment will be in Rhine Cemetery in Rhine, Ga.
Pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.

(7), Terrell (6), George (4), and Larkin M. (1 2/12) farming along Eastman Road.

The 1930 Federal Census for Mitchell, Dodge Co., Georgia, District 7, page 139B, dated January 14, 1930 records Allie B. C. (45 - SC/NC/SC) and Annie M. (42 - GA/GA/GA) Pace and children Allie T. (16), George C. (14), and Larkin M. (11) farming along River Road.
