Gene Stewart King Massengill
Norfolk - NORFOLK, VIRGINIA - Gene Stewart King Massengill, 81, died January 3, 2013 at Autumn Care of Norfolk. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of the late Leigh S. Stewart, Sr. and the late Louise Land Stewart. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Massengill, son, Donald L. King, Jr. and sisters Edith Ryan, Willie Doughtie and Dorothy Whitehurst.
She was a graduate of Maury High School and a member of Bible Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, David Powell, two daughters, Lynne King Wiessner (Gary), Ellicott City, MD, Karen Sutherland (Brian), Boulder, CO, son, David Land King (Beth), Pickerington, OH, two brothers, Leigh S. Stewart, Jr. (Gwen) and Herbert Stewart (Kay), Alexandria, VA, grandchildren Alexander and Tyler Wiessner, Logan and Brooke Sutherland, William and Christopher King, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday January 11, 2013 at the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments by the Reverend Ray Bagi.
