The 1900 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Berks Co., Reading, District 91, page 156B records Elizabeth M. Nevin (Nov 1884) in the home of her parents James (April 1860) and Mary (Dec 1849) with children John G. (Oct 1873), Edward L. (Aug 1881), and Julian (March 1882). James is a Brakeman for the Rail Road and has been married to Mary for 28 years. They have had 7 children of which 4 are still alive. James and Mary are both Irish and immigrated to the United States in 1855.

The 1910 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Berks Co., 13th Ward, Reading, District 89, page 55A records Mary E. Nevin (55-Widow) and her son Edward L. Nevin (28-Packer in a Candy Factory) living at 922 North 8th Street. Mary has had 7 children of which 4 are still living and reports being born in Ireland and immigrated in 1865. Also in the household is her daughter Elizabeth M. Borst (25) and husband George A. Borst (29-Salesman in a Clothing Store) and their son John A. Borst (1).
