Daniel is a Clerk in a Foundry. Daniel's parents are from Virginia and Pennsylvania while Alice's parents are from Pennsylvania and Wales.

The 1870 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Berks Co., Amity, page 55 records Daniel McLane (22) [MacLean] living with his parents Daniel (56) and Elizabeth (53) McLean and brother John (19). Daniel and Elizabeth are quite wealthy with real estate valued at $110,000 and personal property at $1,700. Both Daniel and Elizabeth are listed as born in Ireland. Next door is brother Samuel McLane (24) and his wife Emma (22).

Daniel married Alice H. circa 1873. (Alice H. was born in Mar 1854.)
