The 1860 United States Federal Census, Virginia, Campbell Co., Western District, Castle Craig Post Office, page 543 records George M. (33) and Catherine (26) Rucker with children Catherine M. (2) and Nannie P. (1). George is listed as a Merchant with real estate valued at $150.
The 1870 United States Federal Census, Virginia, Campbell Co., Brookville, page 414B records George M. (53) and Susan (33) Rucker with children Nannie (20), Carrie (18), Lelia (14), Georgianna (12), Margaret (10), Blanks (4), and Pannill (3). Also in the house is Jo M. Martin (14), a son from a previous relationship (see notes on Susan Pannhill). All family members are listed as born in Virginia. George is listed as a Wholesale, Retail, Grocer Merchant with real estate valued at $12,000 and personal property at $40,000.
By 1880 George, Susan, and family have moved to the town of Winston, Forsyth Co., NC. The 1880 United States Federal Census, North Carolina, Forsyth Co., Winston, page 467B records George (63-Merchant) and Susan (44) Rucker with children Maggie (18), Banks (14), Pannill (13), and Susan (4). Susan is listed as born in Virginia so this is a recent move.
Banks Rucker (Jan 1868-VA) can be found in the 1900 Census for Rye Township, Westchester Co., NY. but I can find no other documentation on Pannill nor his parents.
