The 1920 Federal Census for Virginia, Pittsylvania Co., Chatham, District 148 records Charles A. Stutz (43) with wife Ada H. (45) and children Flossie L.[Florence] (10), Rison C. [Rosslyn] (9), and Charles A. Jr. (7). Also in the household is mother-in-law Sallie Carter (77). Charles is a Grocery Store Merchant.

The 1930 Federal Census for Chatham, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia, District 7, page 57A records Charles A. Stutz (45) with wife Carter A. (55) and children Florence(abs) (21), Rosslyn C. (19), and Charles A. Jr. (17) living on Whittle Street. Charles is born in Virginia while his parents are from France. Chalres and "Carter" have been married for 22 years. Charles is a Grocery Store Merchant.
