The 1880 Federal Census for Cunningham District, Fluvanna Co., Virginia, District 50, page 446B, dated June 25, 1880 records Hesikiah Harlow (65 - VA/VA/VA) with his wife, Sarah (55 - VA/VA/VA), and children Jefferson (27), Benjamin (25), Ann M. (24), Martha E. (22), Margaret (21), and Hesikah (18). Also in the household is grandson William J. Harlow (2).
The 1900 Federal Census for Columbia, Fluvanna Co., Virginia, page 166B taken June 9 & 11, 1900 records John S. (55) and Nannie (50) Harlow with daughter Alice D. Harlow (32) and grand daughters Pearl Harlow (Nov 1890), Nannie Harlow (May 1893), and Tobie Harlow (April 1895). John and Nannie have been married for 15 years and have had 4 children all of whom are still living while Alice is single and has had 3 children of whom 1 is still living. Obviously these figures do not add up ... 3 grand children are listed.
The 1910 Federal Census for Columbia, Fluvanna Co., Virginia, District 83, page 164A taken June 9 & 11, 1900 records the widower John S. Harlow (62) with daughter Alice Harlow (40) and grand daughters Minnie Harlow (16) and Mary J. Harlow (14) and grand son John W. Harlow (5). Alice is single and reports having had 3 children of whom 1 is still living. Note: 2 grand children are listed.
