It is of interest that in 1860 a Samuel (8) and Mary (10) Overcash are living with George (46) and Catherine (49) Miley and family in Washington Township, Franklin Co., PA. This is interesting in that our Samuel Overcast in 20 years hence, names a son Samuel Miley Overcast: The 1860 Federal Census for Washington Township, Franklin Co., PA, Waynesboro P. O., page 961B, dated July 7, 1860 records Samuel Overcash (7 - PA) with his sister Mary Overcash (9 - PA) living with George (46) and Catherine (49) Miley and their children Sarah (18), Rebecca (16), Jacob (14), Mary (12), Rosa (10), and Hetty (8). George is a Farmer with real estate valued at $14,300 and a personal estate valued at $3,500.
Also in 1860: The 1860 Federal Census for Waynesboro, Franklin Co., PA, page 981B, dated August 14, 1860 records Samuel Overcash (7 - PA) living with his parents William (34 - PA) and Mary (26 - PA) Overcash and sister Mary Overcash (9 - PA). Also in the household are Joseph Creager (18) and Robert Rule 56 - PA) [Robert Rule is Mary's father]. William is employed as a Wagon Maker with real estate valued at $400 and a personal estate value at $150.

O., page 473B, dated July 28, 1870 records Samuel Overcash (17 - PA) living with his parents William (44 - PA) and Catherine (36 - PA) Overcash and brother George C. Overcash (14 - PA). Also in the household is Elizabeth Grenney (27). William is employed as a Wagon Master with real estate valued at $700 and a personal estate value at $200. On the previous page of the census (473A) is Sam's soon-to-be wife, Anna Rule (16).

The 1880 Federal Census for Altoona, Blair Co., PA, District 153, page 38A, dated June 4, 1880 records the parents of Samuel Overcash, William (55 - PA/PA/PA) and Kate (46 - PA/PA/PA) Overcash. Also in the household is their son, George Overcash (24 - PA) with his wife Lena Overcash (20) and their son Daniel M. Overcash (6/12). William is employed as a Carpenter while George as a R. R. Conductor.

The 1910 Federal Census for Altoona (Ward 8), Blair Co., PA, District 55, page 187A records the Samuel K. Overcash (57 - PA/PA/PA) with his wife Anna (55 - PA/PA/PA) and sons William R. Samuel and Anna have been married 34 years and have had 2 children.

The 1920 Federal Census for Altoona (Ward 8), Blair Co., PA, District 71, page 220A records the widower Samuel K. Overcash (68 - PA/PA/PA) (indexed as Overcak at ancestry.com) with his son William R. Overcash (43 - PA/PA/PA) and wife Mary (37 - PA/PA/PA) living at 400 First Avenue. Samuel is a Carpenter for the Steam Rail Road and William is an Enginman for the Steam Rail Road.
